EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The Winter Weather Advisory to our south has been expanded to include Hopkins and Muhlenberg County until 9 a.m. Sunday. Light snow and sleet are expected in those areas. Accumulations will likely be less than an inch, but some roads could become slick, especially bridges and overpasses. It looks like the rest of the Tri-State will stay dry.
Although tonight looks mostly dry, it will also be mostly cloudy and cold! Temperatures will fall back into the low 20s by Sunday morning, and wind chills will dip into the teens.
The good news is the clouds will clear from northwest to southeast throughout Sunday morning, and the afternoon will be mostly sunny. That sunshine will help our temperatures climb into the lower 40s Sunday afternoon before falling back into the low 20s that night.
Our skies will stay mostly sunny Monday and Tuesday with high temperatures in the low to mid 40s. Temperatures will climb into the upper 40s to low 50s for the second half of the week, but rain chances also return to the forecast Wednesday afternoon and continue on and off through Saturday morning. Heavy rain is possible Thursday night into Friday morning.
