Neighborhood Watch: More charges for Henderson man accused of stealing Jeep, EPD looking for man who showed gun to liquor store clerk

(WFIE) - The charges are adding up for a Henderson man we told you about on Wednesday.

Police told us someone broke into Performance Auto Sales and stole electronics, cash, and keys. Then a 2007 Jeep Wrangler disappeared off the car lot on South Green Street.

Police later stopped that vehicle and arrested the driver, Christopher King, and took him two jail. He was originally charged with stealing the Jeep. Now they've charged him with burglary and stealing a license plate.

Police say the jeep had a license plate on it that was stolen from a separate vehicle.

Evansville police are looking for a man who walked into a liquor store with a gun and apologized.

This happened at the Liquor Locker in the 4600 block Covert Avenue on Wednesday night.

Employees told police a man about 5-foot tall, wearing a tan Carhart jacket and a black hat came in and said, "I'm sorry for what is about the happen."

About 45 minutes later, he paid for a pack of cigarettes, drank a single-shot shooter without paying for it, and left on a newer white and red moped.

The employees say the man didn't threaten anyone with the gun and it's possible he just needs mental help.

Finally, as a Harper Elementary graduate, this warmed my heart and a lot of kids heads.

Special Education Teacher Ryan Gilliam said one of his team members made 400 hats, enough for every child at the school to have one.

What a nice touch.
